In January 2021, the U.S. EPA issued five final rules to reduce exposures to certain chemicals that are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT). These chemicals build up in the environment over time and have potential risks for exposed populations. The rules became effective in March for four of the five chemicals. Knowing many of our clients wanted more information regarding how these rules may apply to their operations, Cornerstone developed the flowchart below to help clients determine potential applicability. If you need a more specific review of the chemicals in your industrial facility and these rules’ applicability, contact Cornerstone at info@corner-enviro.com and our chemical management experts will be happy to assist.
