Stormwater runoff has emerged as a primary water quality issue.  Do you have questions regarding how to take your stormwater sample?  Cornerstone EHS has the answers.  We produced a YouTube video (https://youtu.be/RcV5mpXDQYU) to help answer all of your questions. Facilities that discharge stormwater are required to take samples regularly to test for common pollutants that may have an effect on the environment and water quality.  Our video is intended to provide facilities with a general understanding of industrial stormwater sampling. For clients that contract analytical and reporting services with Cornerstone we arrange for shipment of a stormwater sampling kit from a laboratory.  The facility must collect the samples during a rain event and follow the process to collect and record their samples.  After the sampling kit is sent back to the lab, the results are reported to the state agencies and/or to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA). “The items contained in the sampling kit and the process of taking the stormwater sample can be really confusing if you’ve never done it before or don’t do it very often,” said Sarah Welch, Cornerstone’s Environmental Specialist who narrates the video.  “We wanted to break down the steps and explain the whole thing from beginning to end with good visuals and a dash of humor.” Do you still need help with your stormwater permit or stormwater sampling?  Sarah Welch and our other water team experts are here to help.  Contact us at info@corner-enviro.com or on our website at https://www.cornerstone-ehs.com/contact-us/
