The Indianapolis Public Library is asking that all public notices for new or revised air permits be submitted by email. The change is necessary due to the library closure and staff working remotely during the Coronavirus Pandemic. “While this change is for permits in Marion County area specifically, we think that similar changes may be happening nationwide,” said Qaiser Baig, Cornerstone’s Senior Environmental Engineer who specializes in air permits. “Permit seekers in other areas will want to check with your local libraries for detailed changes on how to submit public notices.” During normal times, business seeking some new or revised air permits, such as those required in Title V of the Clean Air Act, Federally Enforceable State Operating Permit (FESOP) and Minor Source Operating Permits (MSOP), must submit a full copy of the application to a library in the county of the project location. This allows the public to review the documentation and prepare comments for the state environmental agencies.
